Radicalization fad or not

As Heidi has commented in the past Canadian youth seem to be a target for radicalization and our government seems not to be concerned as to the cause just about punishment .

As Heidi recalls , when the group of young radicals were caught in an alleged plot to damage a Via rail train our Prime minister indicated this was not a time for sociology and the courts would look after this . Next we had some of our young causing trouble in a gas plant , murder hostage taking etc., again our Prime minister steps up and says this is not the time for sociology. This was in response to the leader of one of the opposition parties who called for an investigation into the root cause. Then came the shopping mall massacre were again Canadian youth were alleged to have been involved to which our Prime minister responds there is no mass phenomenon of homegrown radicalization in Canada.

This week we learned that there are Canadian youth involved with the terror group committing war crimes in Iraq . No comment from the Prime minister .

Heidi cannot nail down why our Prime minister seems to be so against root cause analysis . We have seen this when it comes to the missing Aboriginal women ,train wrecks, lack of transport for grain, floods and now radicalization.

What do we know , we know from the CBC that a large number of the radicals are coming from Calgary so perhaps he doesn’t want to rock his adopted home turf, it looks like he has an agenda to degrade aboriginals as radicals along with that Suzuki fellow because of their opposition to pipelines , we also know that if a train is at full capacity moving oil it can’t move grain. Perhaps Heidi is just blowing smoke when it comes to the importance and advantages of root cause analysis or perhaps not.

What do you think , is it better to find a cause repair it and move on or simply let the issue recur time and time again.
